Tara Harris studied Fine Art at Newcastle upon Tyne, graduating in 1991 with a specialism in printmaking. She later completed a PGCE in Education, becoming a dedicated advocate for creativity in schools. Her commitment to arts education has been recognised with several Arts Council awards.

Since 2024, Harris has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and in her first solo show at Nook Studios, Birmingham. Recent group exhibitions include Belongings and Surreal Solihull at the Courtyard Gallery, Ascent of Man in Edinburgh, Birmingham Open in Victoria Square, and the Summer Exhibition at Coventry and Warwick University Hospital. A highlight was her first public commission for Surreal Solihull.

Her work has been featured in Time and Memory ( Arts to Hearts Project) Other Worlds ( Collect Art) Artseen (Issue 17) and Under My Skin Catalogue (Backtick) as well as coverage by the Birmingham Post and BBC.

She received an International Artist Award and 100 Emerging Artist Award from Arts to Hearts Project and placed third in the Sanya Tropical City International Art Competition. Harris continues to explore the ephemeral through her distinctive, dreamlike landscapes.

But what’s next? Tara will be exhibiting with Emma Woolley in June 2026 in Digbeth Birmingham at Seventh Circle Gallery. Her work will appear in Surreal Solihull 2026 at the Midlands Arts Centre later this year.
